365Daily – The family of the late Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, who died on board a chopper in US alongside his wife, son and former chairman of NGX, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, about three weeks ago, has released his burial programme.
Conspicuously missing from the programme of events is the City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Lagos, where he worshipped till the time of his death.
This may be related to the pre-planned widely publicised lavish birthday party held to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee birthday of the wife of the Parish Pastor, Dr Siju Iluyomade, two weeks after the death of the Wigwes, who were very prominent members of the church while alive.
According to the programme of events released on Wednesday, the funeral rites for the deceased will commence with a tribute to Herbert Wigwe’s professional legacy at the Eko Hotel in Lagos on March 4, 2024.
Separate ceremonies will then be held to honour Wigwe’s wife, Chizoba, and son Chizi, on March 5 at Eko Hotel in Lagos, followed by a night of tributes on March 6 at the same venue.
A combined service of songs will take place at the RCCG, Resurrection Parish, Lekki, on March 7, followed by a Christian wake-keeping at Wigwe University, Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State.
On March 9, 2024, the funeral and private interment service for the three Wigwes will be held, after which an outing ceremony at the RCCG, Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State, will hold on March 10, 2024.
