Gunmen have reportedly abducted an unspecified number of schoolchildren in Emure Local Government of Ekiti State.
According to a post by Ekititrends on its X handle on Tuesday, January 30, the incident involved students from Apostolic Faith School who were allegedly kidnapped on Monday, while travelling from Emure Ekiti to Eporo Ekiti on their school bus.
The number of students in the kidnappers’ den is yet unknown and the police are yet to confirm the incident.
However, the third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara–Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba escaped the attack.
Ekiti state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who condemned the dastardly act, ordered security operatives in the state to fish out the killers of the two traditional rulers and assured the people of the state that the government would spare nothing to get to the root of the matter.
