365Daily – The immediate past Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, on Monday turned herself in for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a N37billion corruption allegation against her.
She is being accused of aiding a contractor, James Okwete, to launder the sum.
Umar-Farouk disclosed her arrival at the EFCC headquarters premises on Monday, January 8, 2023, via her X account.
She tweeted, “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating.”
