365Daily – Immediate past Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, is set to be sworn in as a member of the Senate after resigning his appointment as Labour and Employment Minister.
Lalong, who was the Director General of the Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, was appointed into the Federal Executive Council after he ‘lost’ his bid to move to the Senate from the Plateau Government House in February 2023.
He concluded his two-term, eight-year tenure as Plateau Governor in May.
But the Court of Appeal later declared him the winner of the election last month, leading to his resignation at the Federal Executive Council meeting last Wednesday.
Lalong previously served terms in the Plateau State House of Assembly, where he was speaker from 2000 to 2007.
He is due to be sworn in as a member of the parliament later this week.
