365Daily – The Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC).
This is just as the Lawmakers commended President Bola Tinubu for nominating competent people into offices.
The Senate had last week referred his nomination and request for confirmation by President Tinubu to its Committee on Communications.
At its plenary on Thursday, the Senate unanimously adopted the report of the Committee which conducted the confirmation exercise.
Presenting the report, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Communications, Senator Aliyu Bilbis, informed the Senate that the nominee ”exhibited character, competence and the right temperament to lead the NCC to break new grounds.”
He added that the nomination followed due process of law.
