365Daily – The All Progressives Congress, APC, has taken steps to intervene in the political crisis between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on Ondo State and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa by setting up a reconciliation committee headed by former Katsina State governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari as chairman.
Other members of the team are Gboyega Oyetola, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Martins Elechi, Obafemi Hamzat, Obafemi Hamzat, Tilley Gyado, Ita Giwa, Tokunbo Abiru, and Liman Abbas who serves as secretary.
In a statement issued by the APC media team in Abuja on Friday, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje while inaugurating the Reconciliation Committee for Ondo State gave them terms of reference.
He said they are to interface and engage with all contending partner(s) with a view to gathering facts and circumstances surrounding the lingering impeachment process of the deputy governor.
He also urged them to advise the party on the most amicable ways of handling the lingering issues leading to the impeachment process of the deputy governor.
And to make necessary recommendations to the party on resolution of issues and any other matter that may come up in the course of the assignment.
Recall that Akeredolu and his deputy have been in a running battle since the return of the governor to Nigeria from his long medical vacation.
The Ondo State House of Assembly has commenced an impeachment process against the deputy governor with a view to terminate his office, but the ruling party is on the way to save the situation from further escalation.
