365Daily – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has visited the site of the 2 storey shopping plaza which collapsed in Garki, Abuja, where he declared that the Federal Capital Territory Administration will pay medical bills of the 35 victims rescued from the rubble.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 11:50pm.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of FCTA, Olusade Adesola, on Thursday, Wike described the collapse which claimed 2 lives as unfortunate.
He said: “It is quite unfortunate that we woke up this morning to hear this very disturbing news.
“I am grateful to all rescue agencies, especially NEMA. It’s unfortunate that two persons are dead.
“I will speak to the permanent secretary to make sure we pay the hospital bills of those who are rescued and that should be done immediately.”
