Amokpo community in Enugu East Local Government Area, Friday, said the purported acquisition of the community’s Supreme City Estate Layout by a private developers was a wishful thinking of the purveyors of the news.
The community clarified this in a statement issued to newsmen by the chairman, Amokpo Nike Power of Attorney, Mr Marcellins Ugwu, and the secretary, Engr Joseph Nnaemeka Ogbu.
The community debunked news making the rounds that it transferred title, sale, lease of the layout to any person, individual, estate developer for the purpose of constructing a purported Lekki Model City at Amokpo.
The statement urged investors to be cautious of fraudsters, warning unsuspecting people against falling victims to the alleged advertorial claiming to be developing a meagre estate in the layout.
According to the statement, “The community hereby dissociates herself from such advertorial believed to be ill conceived as the community would not be directly or indirectly liable for action or inaction that may arise from such transaction.”
The reaction from the community was sequel to an advertorial by private developers, Seman Global, calling on interested buyers to invest in the layout.
The advertorial claimed that a rich investor was building ‘one of the biggest estates in Enugu State; and very close to Nike Lake’.
