Labour Party House of Representatives candidate for Ogbaru Federal Constituency of Anambra State, Hon. Victor Afam Ogene, has charged Nigerians, especially Christians, to spread love across the circle of humanity.
He also encouraged them to pray for one another and the nation.
Ogene’s appeal was contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to Journalists to commemorate this year’s Christmas.
Referencing the birth of Jesus Christ, which he said heralded the occasion of Christmas, Ogene stressed that the coming of Jesus brought hope and liberation for mankind.
He expressed optimism that the 2023 general elections will usher in a set of new leaders who will offer good governance to better the lots of the citizenry and lift the people from poverty.
He said: “Christmas is a season of great conviviality, love, peace and in particular, the glorious celebration of the birth and loving kindness of our Lord Jesus.
“Without Him, there won’t be any event such as Christmas.
“His birth brought hope and liberation for mankind and as such, we are optimistic that next year’s general elections will produce leaders with conscience and the requisite leadership skills to create jobs and pull many Nigerians out of poverty.
“I therefore ask Nigerians to spread love and not hate as we journey into the new year, 2023.”
Ogene, a former deputy chairman, House of Representatives committee on Media and Public Affairs, therefore wished Nigerians a blissful season, full of love, peace and unlimited happiness.
