365Daily – An official of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Yaba, Lagos, has assured the public that vital documents in custody of the office were not destroyed by the fire that engilfed parts of the building on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
The premises was cordoned off after the fire was put out, with entry into the building restricted to visitors.
It was gathered that the fire started on the second floor of the building, though details of its cause remain sketchy.
The council’s acting Head of Public Affairs, Mrs Moyosola Adesina, said in a statement that all important documents and records were intact and no life was lost.
She confirmed that the fire occurred in the early hours but was swiftly put off by a combined team of firefighters.
