365Daily– The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will continue its six months strike after it failed to reach an agreement with the Federal Government after a late night meeting on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
365Daily had reported that the union may end its strike on Tuesday, after its President, Emmanuel Osodeke, informed that the government had agreed to their demand to use University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) as the payment platform for university lecturers, instead of its preferred Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
He had expeessed optimism that the last night meeting for renegotiation would lead to the suspension of the strike if the Federal Government agreed to sign an agreement.
However, the meeting with the Nimi Briggs Committee which held at the National University Commission in Abuja, did not yield any positive result.

Among the demands of the lecturers is the implementation of its demands on salaries and allowances of lecturers, improved funding for universities and adoption of UTAS against the federal government’s IPPIS.
