365Daily – The list of the cleared presidential aspirants vying for the 2023 ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been uncovered.
365Daily had earlier reported that the APC screening committee headed by a former chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, yesterday submitted its report on the exercise at the national headquarters on Friday, June 3, 2022.
The ex-chairman informed the Party Leadership that 10 aspirants were disqualified by the committee, but did not disclose their identity.
However, the names of the 13 cleared aspirants have been uncovered. They are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former Lagos State Governor and APC chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; former Akwa Ibom State Governor and Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio and Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi.
Others are Senate President Ahmad Lawan; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun; Minister of State for Education, Nwajiuba Chukwuemeka; Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru; Christopher Onu and Jack-Rich Tein.
The Committee also recommended that the Party should adopt a consensus candidate in “the interest of peace within the party.”
