365Daily – The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has further extended its Party congresses and primary elections for their various flag-bearers ahead of the 2023 general elections.
PDP revealed this via an announcement posted on its official Twitter handle @OfficialPDPNig on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, which was signed by its National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
According to the new schedule, the race will start with election of candidates for state house of assembly on May 21, House of Representatives May 22, Senate May 23 and governorship May 25.
Meanwhile, those at the South-East were asked to conduct their senatorial primaries on May 24 instead of 23 as a result of the sit-at-home currently witnessed in that part of the country every Monday, orchestrated by the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, who are protesting for his release.
