365Daily – Domestic violence has once again claimed another life in Lagos State.
According to Women Arise for Change Initiative, a Non Governmental Organisation that protects the interest of women promoted by Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin, a 34 year old woman, Mrs Busayo Adewuni, of 19, Jibowu Street, Abule Egba, Lagos became a victim of domestic violence which was perpetuated by her husband, Pastor Enoch Adewuni.
The late mother of three children had, according to reports, endured years of several acts of domestic violence by Adewuni.
Before her unfortunate death, she was said to have confided in her family members but failed to report the constant assault by her husband to the police for necessary action.
On Sunday, February 6, 2022, she was reported dead in circumstances said to be related to domestic violence. Her husband is currently in detention at the Homicide Department of Nigeria Police, Panti, Lagos State, after the case was transferred from Oko Oba Police Division, where it was initially reported.
Odumakin’s Women Arise for Change Initiative is said to be monitoring the case.
