Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on Sunday beat visiting Plateau United FC of Jos 2-1 in a 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 8 fixture.
The victory in the fixture played at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium moved the hosts to 12 points from seven matches.
The match was a good one with both sides striving to win, until in the 22nd minute when Plateau United opened scoring through Salisu Adamu’s own goal.
Fuad Ekelojuoti drew the Wikki Tourists side level two minutes later, through Anas Yusuf in the 64th minute.
During the post-match interview, Sunday Boyi, the head coach of Plateau United FC, commended the players for a fantastic game.
”We know that football is a game of lose and win, If we lose this time around, it is not a big deal.
“We have many matches ahead, and we are going to plan for the next match. I have confidence in the boys, that they will make us proud in the next match,” he said.
Kabiru Dogo, the Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists, on his part praised the team for putting in their best.
“The boys played well and I appreciate their efforts, which is commendable,” he said.(NAN)
