365Daily – The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has urged the privileged in the society to take a cue from David Adedeji Adeleke aka Davido, and donate generously to the needy.
Davido had last week called on his friends to donate N100million to clear his Rolls Royce.
He, however, received over N200million and announced that he was adding N50million to the sum and donating everything to orphanages across the country.
Akpabio made the call when he received the musician in his Abuja residence, a statement endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Jackson Udom, said.
He added that the Minister commended Davido for the gesture, saying: “Let me commend you on the N250 million humanitarian donations to the less privileged in the society. I also commend you for joining other like minds in the society to touch and positively affect the lives of the less privileged in our society.
He continued: “Let me use this opportunity of your visit to me on your birthday, to call on other privileged individuals in business, politics and entertainment to emulate your gesture. I wish you a happy birthday and long life for you to do more for humanity.”
