365Daily – Despite the report of the Lagos State EndSARS panel on Police Brutality, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has insisted that there was no massacre in Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, he described the report as tales by moonlight.
The Government Spokesman also described the report of the Lagos State panel as fake, arguing that allegations made by Nigerians were merely compiled and submitted as a report by the panel.
According to him, the panel set up to investigate the claims of police brutality came up with a hoax.
He added that the majority of the members of the panel intimidated the minority with their views as contained in the report.
The panel comprising legal experts, representatives of civil society organisations and other relevant persons, had alleged in its report which was leaked, that nine peaceful protesters were killed at the Lekki toll gate by soldiers and policemen shot at them to disperse them.
