365Daily – Popular Nigerian comedian, Mr. Macaroni, has revealed why he was absent during a courtesy visit by online skit comedians to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, some days ago.
He explained in posts on his social media pages that he declined the invitation by his colleagues to convey his displeasure towards the Nigeiran government and the system.
Mr. Macaroni is renowned for his active role in the #EndSARS protest which was conducted by youths in 2020 to protest against Police brutality and bad governance.
He was also at the forefront of the 2021 #EndSARS memorial protest that held on October 20, 2021 to commemorate Lekki shootings.
The comedian clarified that he was not sidelined by his colleagues but chose not to join them.
Mr. Macaroni also urged Nigerians not to judge his colleagues for choosing to sit and talk with the government, even though in his opinion, sitting and discussing with the government would not change or solve anything because it is already aware of the situation but choose to not to take appropriate action.
He further said as the 2023 election period draws nearer, the government is looking for avenues to gain support of the same youths they had abandoned.
