365Daily– A total of seven federal and state lawmakers have dumped their respective parties for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State.
Five of them are serving members of the House of Representatives, while two are state legislators.
In addition, an ex-member of the House of Representatives and a former Councilor in the state also joined in the gale of defections.
The Rep members are Engr. Chris Azubogu (PDP, Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo); Okwudili Ezenwakwo (APGA, Orumba North/South); Vin Ofumelu (PDP, Ayamelum); Chudi Momah (APGA, Ihiala) and Lynda Ikeazu (PDP, Onitsha North/South).
For state assembly, the two members who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC are Douglas Egbuna (Onitsha South) and Onyebuchi Offor (Ekwusigo).
In Ihiala Federal Constituency, ex-member Chuma Nzeribe received a warm welcome as he joined the APC family.
He was received by the APC secretary, Mr. Jonathan Ezikeugo, who represented the local government chairman.
Hon. Nzeribe pledged to bring all his expertise and experience in politics to bear in ensuring that APC wins the November 6 Anambra State gubernatorial election.
The former Councilor of Amamu B Ward was among those received into the APC fold.
