365Daily – Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDPGF), yesterday concluded its much anticipated meeting without taking a stand on the fate of the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus.
The meeting, which held at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, lasted for 6 hours.
Chairman of PDPGF, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, hinted while briefing newsmen after the meeting, that they would reconvene with other stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Assembly caucus in attendance, to chart the way forward on the call for Secondus resignation.
He said: “Very soon, Nigerians, and indeed all of you, will hear our resolution. But we are working towards resolving all issues, as a family. By the grace of God, we are going to achieve that.”
365Daily gathered that Secondus, who joined the meeting after its commencement, maintained that he will not resign from office as he had done nothing wrong.
He was said to have responded to allegations bordering on misappropriation of party funds, incompetence and deliberate manipulation of party affairs..
After the drill, he told newsmen when queries on his next step: “No, I am not going to resign.”
Secondus had been indicted by six members of the National Working Committee (NWC), who demanded for his resignation. They also forwarded a report in which they made allegations against the National Chairman to the PDPGF.
The meeting was attended by Governors Oluseyi Makinde (Oyo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) and Godwin Obaseki (Edo).
Others at the meeting were Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Adamu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Douye Diri (Bayelsa) and Darius Ishaku (Taraba).
