Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) are presently converging at the main gate of the National Aseembly in preparation for a protest against the alleged unilateral alteration of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill by members of the National Assembly.
The CSOs allege that the lawmakers made changes to the provisions agreed upon by stakeholders at the Public hearing without further consultations.
They listed the areas to include election funding limit, electronic transfer of results, judicial pronouncement on deregistering of parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and others.
