365Daily – President Muhammadu Buhari, alongside all Security Service Chiefs, are in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on a one-day working visit.
He is also scheduled to address troops at Maimalari Cantonment.
Buhari arrived at the Maiduguri International airport at 9:45 a.m. accompanied by top officials of his government. He is scheduled to depart at 2 p.m.
He was received by the Governor of Borno, Babagana Zulum.
The visit is the first in 13 months since his last on February 12, 2020, when he was booed by some angry residents protesting worsening insecurity in the state.
In what seemed like an attempt to appeal to Borno resident not to repeat the incident, Governor Zulum, in a statewide broadcast on Tuesday, urged residents to come out en masse to welcome the President to recognise all the good works he has done for the state in the last six years.
From the airport, he proceeded to the site of the newly established Vocational Training Centre at Njimtilo, a community on the outskirts of Maiduguri, where he commissioned it.
From there, he moved to the new Borno State University, where he commissioned the Senate Building.
