The Ondo State Football Association (OSFA) said on Friday, that it had concluded arrangements to use scouts arriving in Akure, from the United Kingdom on a scouting programme, to train its coaches.
The association’s Chairman, Otunba Dele Ajayi, said this in a statement he made available to newsmen in Akure.
According to him, Mandot Soccer Stars Football Club, Akure, and Lagos-based Ude Sports Management Limited would be bringing the scouts to Akure.
Ajayi said the selected coaches would be trained on Monday, June 7, by the scouts from the United Kingdom.
The chairman, who disclosed that ‘Team formations or system of play’, would be the topic of the training, said the training was in fulfilment of his electoral promises that no aspect of football would be neglected.
“The OSFA, through the technical committee, is taking advantage of the Mandot Soccer Stars Football Club, Akure and Ude Sports Management Limited, Lagos, scouting tournament program holding in Akure, to further educate Ondo state football coaches.
“Selected football coaches will be having an hour coaching education and interactive session with the guest coaches from the United Kingdom.
“This is part of our plans to ensure that football is developed across the state, especially from the grassroots, by exposing our coaches to the latest knowledge in football,” he said. (NAN)
