President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria after an official trip to Paris, France.
President Buhari is returning after a four day trip for the Financing Africa Summit.
The president left Abuja on Sunday for the summit which was hosted by President Emmanuel Macron of France.
The summit drew major stakeholders in the global finance institutions and some Heads of Government, who collectively discussed external funding and debt treatment for Africa, and private sector reforms.
President Buhari at the summit called on European countries and global financial institutions to consider reducing the devastating effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on African economies by restructuring debt portfolios and providing complete debt relief.
He observed that many African countries were already experiencing debt distress and the debt service suspension by France and the G-20 was not far reaching enough.
Buhari added that there was need for more sustainable and affordable financing solutions, including debt relief and further debt restructuring.
