365Daily – The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has adjudged the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) “Best in Human Resource Development for 2020”.
Presenting the award to the Head, Human Resources, EEDC, Nkiru Chukwuma, at the company’s Corporate Headquarters in Enugu on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the Area Manager, ITF Enugu, Uzoamaka Yahaya, said the award is in recognition of its efforts in the area of human capital development and capacity building within the Southeastern part of Nigeria.
Yahaya further revealed that the power firm clinched the coveted award for the first time by meeting and exceeding all the necessary training requirements and financial obligations.
While responding on behalf of EEDC, Chukwuma appreciated ITF for acknowledging all that the company has been doing in empowering its personnel, and reiterated its continued commitment to the training and retraining of staff, bearing in mind that they remain its critical asset.
“We recognise that training and retraining of employees result in excellence in service delivery, which is a key part of our operations and we intend to remain at the top in learning and development,” Chukwuma said.
According to ITF, the award is designed to recognise brands passionate about continuous learning and development of its employees, which is expected to yield an overall improvement in performance across a broad range of operational and customer service activities.
