365Daily – Kidnappers of students of Greenfield University, Kaduna, have vowed to kill the remaining students in their custody if their demands are not met by Tuesday.

About 23 students, including a staff of the privately-owned university located along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway, were abducted from the school on April 20, 2021.

Five of them were found dead in two separate locations within a week, killed by the bandits. They were said to have been killed because their ransom was not paid.

Speaking to the Hausa Service of the Voice of America, a man who identified himself as leader of the gang of bandits that abducted the students, Sani Jalingo, said their demand is a ransom of N100 million and ten motorcycles.

He said they had so far received N55 million as ransom for the abducted students; 15 females and 2 males.

The N100 million is a reduction from the N800 million earlier set as ransom.

He threatened that if either the Kaduna State Government or the students’ family failed to meet the demands by Tuesday, the remaining students in their custody will be killed and evacuated in trucks.
