The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the time-table and schedule of activities for the November 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, with its primaries to hold on Saturday, June 16, 2021.
A statement signed by the Director, Organisation, of the party, Prof. Al-Mustapha Ussiju Medaner, which was posted on the party’s official Twitter handle on Thursday, 15, April, 2021, said the expression of interest forms will cost aspirants N2.5 million, while the nomination forms go for N20 million, bringing it to a total of N22.5 million for the Governorship forms.
However, female and physically challenged aspirants are to pay 50 percent of the amount.
Activities leading to the primaries will begin on Wednesday, April 14 to Wednesday, June 30, 2021, the statement disclosed.
It stated that the sales of forms will commence on Thursday, April 15 to Tuesday, June 8, 2021, with the last day for the submission of the forms alongside supporting documents being the same June 8 at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled to hold on Thursday, June 10, publication of claims and objections on Saturday, June 12 and Screening appeal on Tuesday, June 15.
The primary election will hold on Saturday, June 26, while election appeal has been fixed for Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
The APC said the notice is in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act (2010) as amended and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.
