Some unknown gunmen have attacked the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and a leading contender in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
According to a media report, Soludo was attacked at his hometown, Isuofia in Aguata local government area of the state, at the Civic Centre where he was having meeting with some people.
At the process, three policemen attached to him were killed by the attackers while their rifles were carted away with.
The unknown assailant also kidnapped the Anambra State Commissioner for Utility.
As the time of filing this report, police was yet to make any official statement to that effect, but 365Daily will bring more reports as they unfold.
Anambra governorship election is scheduled to hold on November 6, 2021.
