365Daily – A Lagosian, Segun Titilola, has taken his friend, 52-year-old Olutoba Olukunle, to court for allegedly defrauding him of N57 million naira.
The case came up on Friday, March 26, 2021, at a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
Olukunle, who was charged with two counts of fraud and theft, however, pleaded not guilty.
According to the Police prosecution counsel, Inspector Samuel Ishola, Olukunle was given the money on July 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Number 75, Broad Street, Lagos Island to supply diesel to Titilola.
However, Ishola, after collecting the money, neither supplied the diesel, nor refunded the money to Titilola.
The act, according to the prosecution, contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The presiding judge, Magistrate A.A. Paul, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until April 28 for hearing.
