A certain Anambra state lawmaker, identified as Honourable Obinna, has seemingly ‘chat’ himself into avoidable controversy in the social media, as a young female doctor who the obviously married lawmaker was trying to lure into an amorous relationship, using money as a bait, spilled the beans by posting screenshots of their private chat on social media.
The WhatsApp chat screenshots revealed that the said Hon. Obinna has been trying to woo the beautiful Hausa medical doctor for some time and perhaps the lady obviously irritated by his seeming arrogant and boastful approach decided to put a stop to his pestering by exposing him in the public arena.
In one of the chats, he had boasted to her, “There’s surplus money to spend together.
“Name your price and it will be done instantly.”
In another, he ridiculously and derisively said:”We can go anywhere in the world and I can make you forget your Hausa people.
“Baby just give me a chance, to prove myself biko.”
The apparently unimpressed doctor, who goes by the name, Dr. Halima Abubakar, or @DrHalima_ as her Tweeter handle, posted the screenshots with a message that read: “Igbo people please come (and) advice your honourable to leave my WhatsApp or I will reveal more.”
The controversial social media conversation was ignited by the lawmaker after he approached the lady via email and requested for her WhatsApp number for a phantom business proposal, which he used as a decoy to get the lady’s phone number.
Subsequently, he introduced himself through a WhatsApp message thus: ” Hello Doc, good evening. It’s Hon. Obinna ( his surname was covered in the leaked screenshots) from Anambra. I sent you an email and requested for your WhatsApp.”
The lady replied: “Good evening. I recall your email. Warm regards. You made mention of a business proposal. Please can we get into it, so (I) can assess it?”
But curiously, Hon. Obinna said, “Baby calm down na. Yes, I’m here for business and you are my business..
“I saw your tweets and I’m interested in making you happy.”
The possibly bewildered lady rebuked him, “Hey Mr. Obinna, please, hold it there. I know when a normal conversation is stretching into an insult. I beg your pardon. Do I look lost or hungry to you?”
“Arewa people with pride” Hon Obinna responded.
Then the already flustered lady queried him further, “Is this how you lavish the money meant for your constituents on frivolities?
“You’re a shame to your people and everything you represent.”
The puzzle, however, is who is this Honourable Obinna from Anambra since his surname was blocked in the leaked screenshots?
The comment section where the leaked controversial screenshots were posted added to the confusion as different people made allusions to two possible names. One in the Anambra State House of Assembly, the other in the House of Representatives, both of who bear the same first name Obinna!
One of the comments read, “Hon Obinna don spend my constituents money finish oooooo. Haaaaa. No wonder him no dey work anything”
Another said, “From Idemili Constituency I guess.
2023, we came prepared!!!
Reveal more Doc biko 🙏🙏”
Yet another, suggested: “Hon Obinna, ndi Anambra East come and check if it’s your constituency project money they are sending instantly to Nwanyi ugwu 😊😊”
While one other stated: “Nna, this Obinna dey Abuja, so he’s likely at the Green Chamber and we have only one Obinna from Anambra in the Green Chamber and he’s from Idemili axis. If you call his full name, na you sabi😉”
But another comment gave an entirely different view: “Hahahaha. This Obinna is not in anyway a member of State House or Federal House… The said Obinna is just a low key Obinna who wants to have a taste of Dr. Abubakar…”
The question remains, who really is the Honourable Obinna from Anambra?
