Immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, officially pulled out of the Nigerian Army on Friday in a parade held at Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja.
The parade, part of the military tradition in honouring a retiring Chief of Army Staff, involved a march past by the officers of Nigerian Army.
Minister of Defence, Maj.-Gen. Bashir Magashi (Rtd.), members of the National Assembly, Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, Chief of Army Staff, Lucky Irabor, representatives of other services chiefs and Buratai’s Regular Course mates were present at the event.
The ex-Army chief also used the occasion to unveil his book entitled “The Legend of Buratai’’.
The Defence Minister, Magashi, who did the honours of unveiling the book, noted that the event was not just a pulling out but a celebration of the numerous achievements of Buratai..
He said the book was a chronicle of the life of Buratai and would inspire younger minds to aspire higher in life.
In his remarks, Buratai said all the narratives in the book were real and urged readers to take their time to go through it.
