Nigeria’s Vice President and Chairman, National Council on Skills Team, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has appointed the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Pauline Tallen, as team member for the training of women and youths in Nigeria.
Women Affairs Ministry’s Director of Press, Mr Shehu Maikai, disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.
The statement quoted the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Anthonia Akpabio-Ekpa, who represented the minister at the maiden meeting, as saying she would be involved in three sub-committees on women and children concerns.
The committees include Related issues, Basic Management Accounting and Industrial related.
According to the statement, the Ministry was directed to patronise the facilities at the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) to host their programmes on such issues.
It also called on the ministry’s staff to strive hard toward achieving their mandates and not to delay in the execution of government programmes.
