The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has advised Nigerians to observe COVID-19 protocols, as they celebrate Christmas and New Year, to curb spread of the virus.
Malam Muhammad Gabdo, NOA Adamawa Director made the call during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Yola.
He said that observing the protocols will help prevent people from contracting the virus, especially in public places.
He advised the people to always wear facemasks in public places, as well as ensure regular hand washing and the use of sensitisers.
“Nigerians must also observe social distancing in public places especially now that we are facing the second wave of the disease,” he said.
Gabdo urged religious leaders to educate their followers on the dangers of the disease to curtail its spread.
He also appealed to commercial vehicle drivers to shun overloading to prevent spread of the virus.
