The students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara in Katsina who regained freedom from the hands of their captors have made some shocking revelations on their ordeal within the one week of their captivity.
Some of the boys who spoke to newsmen on Friday when they were brought to the Katsina State Government House to see Governor Bello Masari said they were given food just once in two days and they also defecate at the same spot.
The schoolboys said they saw ‘hell’ while in captivity and prayed never to find themselves in such dehumanizing condition any more.
‘We ate only once in two days”, one of the boys said, adding that they really suffered while in the bush.
Another boy said they were made to defecate in the same place that they slept.
Recall that 344 of the abducted schoolboys were released on Thursday night, the governor earlier disclosed, and were headed to the state capital from Tsafe, Zamfara State.
About 600 boys were reportedly kidnapped from their school in Kankara last Friday, with a little over 200 found in the following days in the bushes surrounding the school and its environs.
The identity of the group responsible for the kidnap remains unclear. While the Federal Government, Katsina State Government and the Army insist that local bandits were responsible for the attack, terrorist group, Boko Haram, has taken the credit.
