The Abubakar Shekau faction of Boko Haram on Thursday released a new video confirming that it has custody of the students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina State, who were abducted last Friday.
At least 333 out of 800 schoolboys are confirmed missing, following the mass abduction on Friday night.
Governor Aminu Masari, while briefing President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura on Monday, disclosed that the state government were in talks with the abductors, assuring that the students would be safely returned.
The video, six minutes and 30 seconds long, features speeches from Shekau and one of the schoolboys who looked distraught and bloodied.
Tens of other young boys could be seen behind him, all covered in dust and appearing to be within a forest area.
The relatively older students who spoke, in both English and Hausa, urged the Federal Government to settle amicably with their abductors, advising the government not to use of military force in rescuing them.
