By Senator Ifeanyi Ubah
Yesterday, I joined delegates from the 36 states of our federation at the Special National Convention of our great party; Young Progressives Party(YPP) at the International Conference Center(ICC), Abuja.
As the pioneer Senator and National Leader of our party, nothing gives me greater joy than such an opportunity as presented yesterday, for direct interaction with so many enthusiastic and dedicated fellow party members. I charged our members and supporters at all levels to remain focused and steadfast to the course and cause of our great party as we gallantly embark on the journey of repositioning YPP for greater heights with the hope of a better Nigeria.
I equally urged party stakeholders to continually promote ideals that will further unify the party and ensure the entrenchment of internal democracy, equity and discipline at all times as these are the prerequisites for consolidation of party democracy.
In line with the Special changes as duly ratified by the National Convention, Our party Logo has been amended to reflect the introduction of the green leaf which signifies the birth of the #GreenOpenDoorRevolution that is coming to the Nigerian political landscape.
In the same vein, the NWC also made provisions for the creation of the office of the National Adviser For Persons with Disability as well as the office of the National Sports Adviser.
Conclusively, as the emerging third force in our continual strive to improve Nigeria’s democracy, Nigerians need the Young Progressives Party (YPP) now more than ever. The time is ripe, the hour has come and we are ready. We must forge ahead! We must take action! We must build!
Today in YPP, young Nigerians now have a party they can be proud of; a youth oriented party committed to rebuilding the Nation. As party members, we are conscious of the responsibility we hold to our Nation and we are clear about the points of action and areas of action we seek to pursue.
It is my earnest expectation that our National Special Convention would not only bolster intra party relations but also foster greater understanding of the Party’s vision, mission, core values and developments.
Long live the Young Progressives Party!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
