The Deputy Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Iroju Ogundeji, has been voted out by the state legislators.
Mr Samuel Aderoboye representing Odigbo Constituency 2 has been elected the new Deputy Speaker.
Ogundeji and three other lawmakers were suspended months ago by the leadership of the House in the wake of moves to impeach the deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi.
He, however, got reinstated by a court which quashed the decision of the House for being inconsistent with the provisions of the Constitution.
The embattled lawmaker had disclosed that he is being persecuted by his colleagues for not supporting “evil”.
“I will remain who I am no matter whose ox is gored. I will not join multitudes to do evil. I shall continue to maintain my untainted Integrity,” he wrote on his Facebook page while lamenting against the continuous withholdal of his salary and entitlements after the court ruling.
“In fact, no amount of inducement, intimidation, threat and oppression would change my conscience.
“My six months’ salaries and legitimate entitlements are withheld by the power that be, despite Court order declaring their action illegal, null and void and unconstitutional.”
