Governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, late Friday paid a visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan as part of celebration of his 63rd birthday.
The political leaders used the occasion at his Abuja home to persuade him to consider running for president again in 2023 but this time, on the platform of the APC.
The governors, 365Daily gathered, felt the ex-president would make a suitable candidate in the clamour for a Southern flag bearer in the next general election.
The governors who allegedly had the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari’s loyalists, reached the conclusion that Jonathan would be the best choice to rake over from Buhari because of his peaceful and non-vindictive nature and would work in the interest of the north.
The entourage had the acting national chairman of APC and Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni; David Umahi; Atiku Bagudu and Abubakar Badaru.
