Barely a few days after former president of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, passed on, pictures of his secret partner and a love child, according to information circulating online, have gone viral.
It was gathered that the woman is a Swiss-Cameroonian named Nathalie Yamb who has long campaigned for an end to French neo-colonialism in Africa and has resided in Côte d’Ivoire for many years until last year when she was deported to Switzerland by the government.
She is also a politician of LIDER, the opposition party of Professor Mamadou Koulibaly, serving as executive advisor.
It’s alleged that the woman who was also head of human resources at MTN Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire and MTN West Africa, shared a grown-up son with the late Rawlings, who once referred to as her fiance.
The tweet reads; “Statement de mon fiancé Jerry John Rawlings.” which translates as “Statement from my fiancé Jerry John Rawlings“.
On her Instagram page, she has photos of herself having a nice time with Jerry Rawlings with captions and tags suggesting that they were lovers and loved each other very much.
He was, however, formally married to Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who was the First Lady of Ghana from 4 June, 1979 to 24 September, 1979, and 31 December, 1981 to 7 January, 2001, when her husband was the country’s president.
In 2016 she became the first woman to run for the office of the President of Ghana, and subsequently became dubbed as the Hillary Clinton of Africa.
They had four children.
